My photographic interests centre on lepidoptera and the environments in which they live.

I am a member of the national charity, Butterfly Conservation, and am chairman of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight branch.

Butterflies are threatened by environmental effects which range from habitat loss to climate change. The charity is concerned with research into  understanding how and why butterfly populations change and, where possible, to prevent further losses. We own and manage reserves which serve to protect species and to illustrate what can be achieved as an example to other land-owners.

I have a particular interest in the use of pinhole camera techniques for environmental imaging as well as film (35mm and medium format) and digital.

I specialise in lepidotera imaging and offer training sessions for those wishing to develop their techniques.
